Dear Parents

Camberley Cricket Club’s coaching team will again be running a Summer Camp this year at the following times:

Mon & Tue 20th - 21st August 9 to 5 year olds 9.30 am to 1.00 pm
Wed & Thu 22nd - 23rd August 14 to 10 year olds 9.30 am to 4.00 pm

The Summer Camps are a little later this year because we have had so much commitment on the ground with a variety of representative games.

The aim of these Summer Camps is to continue to develop your son or daughter as a player and provide them with the opportunity to improve their game in an enjoyable and friendly environment. We welcome children of all abilities and experience on these courses. We will endeavour where possible to tailor the activities on the courses to suit the individuals so that they gain maximum benefit. Although these Summer Camps are primarily for Club Junior members we are also happy to take friends who genuinely want to be introduced to cricket.

Both Camp are open to boys and girls. In terms of selecting the right Camp to attend we offer the following additional guidelines:

• Any 9 year old boys who are playing for the U10s and therefore used to hard ball should attend the 14 to 10 year old Camp.

• Any 10 year old boys and girls new to cricket who have not played hard ball games for the Club would be better off attending the 9 to 5 year old Camp.

We clearly want to see the take-up and hopefully this works for parents and their children. We are also happy that Juniors attend by individual sessions rather than commit to 4 sessions; if timings make this more preferable for parents. The older age group Camp will be of 4 sessions over 2 days. Both these Camps are open to boys and girls.

The 14 to 10 year old Camp will gain build on the basic technical skills of batting, bowling and fielding as well as introduce more game based scenarios to improve running between the wickets, knowledge of fielding positions, laws of cricket and how to cope in various game situation etc.

The 9 to 5 year old Camp will provide a fun introduction to cricket encompassing the fundamentals of the game, ie catching, throwing, fielding a ball, batting and bowling. Activities will also cover the necessary key movement skills through a series of fun games to promote teamwork and enjoyment.

All attendees are asked to bring a packed lunch and drinks as well as suitable clothing/footwear for outdoor on grass as well as with the artificial nets.

Costs are provided in the attached booking forms. If you wish to attend please complete the attached booking form and return to Gill Abraham on . Payment can be made by BACS to the Club Account No 00121380, Sort Code 30-91-53 - suggested reference “Surname - JSC” or by cheque made payable to “Camberley Cricket Club Ltd”.

The closing date for receiving bookings is Sunday 19th August.

If you have any questions on the Summer Camps or would like further information please give me call.

Kind regards
