U11s finish in style with a victory over Valley End
By Ian SIMPSON
Old rivals blown away by excellent bowling , field craft and batting
A fine sunny morning at CCC was the scene set for the last clash of the season - with old rivals, Valley End. VE won the toss and elected to bat, which seemed the better decision, but the wickets soon started tumbling, thanks to Connor, and the awesome Toby with two off two in the second, removing their captain, Linus, a notorious big-hitter, for a golden, leaving Valley End floundering at 7 for 3 very early on. More wickets from Noah, Thomas G (who had to retire hurt temporarily as a ball got him on the shin) Ethan and Ollie, leaving Valley End with 59 for 9 after twenty overs. Camberley's batting started with Charlie and Connor making some good calls and runs, but Charlie sadly dropped cheaply this time, and it was left to Harry Baker, Ethan, Connor and Noah to make up the runs, which passed the 60 mark in the 13th over, giving the U11s one of their easier wins of the season. Well done all the boys. Again, the bowling and the fielding really won the match. More batting prowess will make these guys unstoppable!
