U12s in a Bowling fest against Bagshot
By Ian SIMPSON
Hugo McEntegart scores 4 for 6 , to take the U12s to an easy victory
The thunderstorm had just cleared when the U12s took to the field against local rivals Bagshot. The opposition were two short so CCC lent them two fielders throughout their time in the field, and they performed very sportingly, making some good stops and returns to help Bagshot. Our Batsmen, Owen (15) and Adrian (30 Not Out) Helped the Camberley score to a respectable 110 for 5 by the 20 overs. Nothing to shout about, and certainly not a Jos Buttler performance, but a total nonetheless.
Bagshot started slow, but soon started speeding up their run rate and our first two bowlers failed to make an indent. Then Owen managed to get a caught behind, and Hugo started his run of three bowleds and a caught, to give him 4 for 6 at the end. An excellent performance over just two overs. Owen finished on 2 for 14 , and Kai DOVER
got a respectable 2 for 6 , and only four wides in the whole innings (Bagshot had 18), so all in all a respectable bowling performance saw Camberley through. The boundary fielding was leaky in places, allowing a few unnecessary fours. It was decided to play last man standing, but when the Bagshot batsman retired at thirty, that was it, and Camberley had clinched a much needed victory after the recent drought. Well done everyone.
